Do you ever ask yourself “Why you’re here?” Do you even think about it?

I think that so few people ever have a true direction, that they live their lives, running around in a fog. If you’re a little kid and all you think about is ‘being in the Olympics’, then you (at least) have some focus and direction. If you’re an adult and you’re still asking questions about your existence, life becomes a journey of  ’search and seizure’, meaning you pickup and do whatever it is you find.

Truly, this cannot be the way to go. The one thing I’ve discovered (throughout my own lifetime of experiences) that ‘one’ specific direction is always nice. If you can discover that one direction and get it under control, you can go in as many directions as you like, after that.

So all the ’success and money people’ say, do these things:

1) First and foremost, look for your passion.

2) Once you know what that is, find a way to make money doing it.

3) Set your goals (on paper) – one month, three months, six months, one year, three years, five years, and stick to the plan.

4) Help others achieve their dreams, as well.

5) Stay focused on the dream.

Even those of us who work, but stay focused on the dream, can and will get there, if they follow their plan.

It seems so simple and yet we never seem to do it. There are people out there with lots of education, little to no education, smart, and not so smart, who all made their dreams come true. So. it dosen’t matter who you are, where you come from, or what you do. All that matters is that you “DO IT!”

When you come to the obstacles, jump over them, slide under them, go around them, sidestep them or whatever else it takes (legally) to get to your goal, and absolutely nothing will be able to stop you.

If you haven’t heard of ‘The Secret’ yet, you either live on another planet or don’t give ‘a hoot’ about things people discuss endlessly on radio and TV. ‘The Secret’ phenomena, or whatever you choose to call it, has been on Larry King Live (two or three times), Oprah (twice), on CNN (several times) and on every other important talk-type show you can possibly think of.  If you don’t know the basics of what it’s about, ‘The Secret’ is a DVD (and Book) that has been circulating for about a year now (maybe more), but at least a year, telling average people that they can have anything they desire. These desires can include money, spirituality, health, peace and well-being. For a person to understand this concept, according to the DVD, a person must understand ‘The Law of Attraction’ and how it works in their life. Many people who have watched it, say that it has turned their lives around 360 degrees (for the better) and made them perceive life in a way they never looked at it before. That is a basic summary of what ‘The Secret’ is about. Like all things, ‘The Secret’, ‘The Law of Attraction’, and anything else that was shown and discussed on the DVD is up for attack by people who are jealous of ‘The Secret’s phenomenal success, who feel threatened by the contents, who literally want the information kept secret, or just out-and-out don’t believe it. There is nothing on the planet today (good, bad, or indifferent) that a person can do or say without ‘the other half’ putting in their two cents…no matter what it is.

THE BIG DEAL

Here’s the Nitty-Gritty of it all. The Law of Attraction basically says that what you keep on your mind and in your thoughts is exactly what you attract into your life, like a magnet. The focus becomes the magnet. The universe (which is pure energy), just like we are, only attracts to you what you think about. And this works both ways, whether you think positively or negatively.

Some of the people who dispute this theory, say things like, “I’m a very positive person and all I get is bad luck, so the Law of Attraction doesn’t work”. What they don’t see or realize, on some level, is that ‘a surface view’ of their so-called positive lifestyle is not enough to attract ‘the good life’. If you smile when you go out in public and you’re basically good to people, and try being nice most of the time, it does not mean that you’re positive. This is almost like a ‘weak’ battery. A battery inside a flashlight may cause that flashlight to blink off and on intermittingly, because basically, the battery itself is weak. Therefore, it’s very difficult for the flashlight to shine brightly under those circumstances.

If you’re transmitting ‘a positive attitude’, with a weak battery and you spend 90% of your focus and ‘thinking’ about your bills, the job you hate, and the relationships in your life that aren’t going all that well, then the Law of Attraction is working exactly like it’s supposed to. It doesn’t care who you are, where you live, what nationality you may be, it’s working from your ‘conscious and unconscious’ perceptions and thoughts.Unfortunately or fortunately, for you, it works correctly ALL THE TIME! It’s sending back your most powerful signal to you in your life.

So, the incredible group of people who worked together to bring ‘The Secret’ into your home, are simply trying to ‘wake you up’ to your own possibilities and to show you what can work for you in your life.  The cool thing about testing the ‘reality’ of this theory, is to do what makes it work. First, get the DVD at www.thesecret.tv and simply download it. Watch the whole thing, not just part of it. If you want to order it, instead of downloading it to your computer, do that.  After watching it, put it into effect, to the best of your ability. If you do EVERYTHING; not just the parts you like, you will be able to tell whether or not it’s working. It’s that simple.I know people (after watching it), who started thinking differently about life and making real changes, and actually received some real results from it, but refused to follow the whole formula. Implementing ‘forgiveness, gratitude and action’ are part of the formula. Without the entire formula, the ‘results’ are limited. You can’t make a cake and leave out the eggs, the milk and the frosting and go “There is no such thing as a cake”. Let’s get real, here. When you get a recipe (whether it’s food or a life formula), you have to do ALL OF IT! If not, it’s like the old saying, “You’re just half-steppin.” The Universal Law of Attraction is very powerful. Even half-hearted tries can’t hurt. It’s the question you’ve been asking and the answer you’ve been looking for. Give it your all! Give it your best! Don’t short-change yourself by passing it by. After all, it’s ‘The Secret’, and The Law of Attraction is waiting for you.

UNTIL NEXT TIME

This is where we all got it wrong, when it comes to changing ourselves. Most of our society spends a huge portion of their lives buying ‘stuff’. We all want more clothes, better cars, bigger houses, more jewelry, whatever it is we like ‘so much’. But we never think that if we spent more time helping someone else fulfill their dreams (even little ones), we’d feel so much better about the things we do have. We’d fill that empty hole that we think is going to be fulfilled by buying ‘more stuff’. Forgiveness is a huge part of changing ourselves. Most of us (including me) find it extremely hard to forgive people who have hurt our feelings, or done us serious harm in some way. This can be impossible or next to impossible for many of us. However, this is the key to releasing yourself from places in your life that keep you stuck…with finances, relationships (romantic relationships and all other kinds of relationships), business, careers and pretty much anything you can think of. Forgiving ourselves is also important. We do things we’re not proud of at times and need to forgive ourselves for things we’ve done. Here’s a couple of exercises in ‘forgiveness’ I found in Louise Haye’s Book, “You Can Heal Your Life”.   Simply sit quietly in the dark or with your eyes closed and say, “The person I need to forgive is _________________ and I forgive you for_____________________. Repeat this phrase over and over.  Then imagine the person you’re saying it to and imagine them saying “Thank you. I set you free now”.  Ms. Haye says do this for at least five or ten minutes and to search your heart for the injustices you still carry. Then let them go. When you have cleared as much as you can for now, turn you attention to you and say out loud “I forgive myself for ____________”.Also do this for another five minutes. Then feel that you’ve released yourself from each and every injustice. Louise Haye says these are powerful exercises and should be done at least once a week until you feel cleared of all past burdens. No matter how hard it is, just keep chipping away at it until all things are resolved. You can also visualize better scenarios between you and other people. Some people ask why it’s so important to ‘forgive’ when they really hate certain people. The reason it’s so important to forgive is because we’re ‘all one’ – remember? When you don’t forgive, the only person that this affects and hurts is ‘you’.   ·        You’ll be stuck (not the person you hate)·        Your life won’t go forward·        You won’t be at peace·        You will develop more diseases and more stress This is why you practice forgiveness. Not for the other person, for YOU. Changing ourselves takes some work, but it’s so, so valuable to our well-being. In fact, we wouldn’t be able to pay our way to the kind of freedom and inner peace we’ll have, once we embrace our self-discovery. It’s the ultimate natural ‘high’!

This is always the BIG question? Where do I start changing myself? After all, most of us think we’re perfectly alright and that everybody else has lost their ‘ever lovin’ minds’. So, what is the big deal, anyway? What’s so important about me even thinking about changing myself? The big deal is that (contrary to popular opinion), we DO NOT know ourselves, like we think we do, and this happens to be the vast majority of us. Because if we truly knew WHO we are, we would realize many, many things we do not realize now.

·        We’d realize that we have almost unlimited powers of creation, just by our thoughts alone.

·        We’d know that we’re connected to a vast universe that is willing and ready to help us if we only knew how to access it’s power.

·        We’d know that only the body passes over; that who we really are (in spirit) is incapable of death and re-invents itself time and time again.

·        We’d realize that the earthly body has miraculous healing powers, if we’d only help the healing through ‘divine power’, ‘mind power’, and/or natural substances, put on this earth for our healing, instead of destroying the healing through drugs.

·        We’d know that any hurt, destruction, or killing of others will eventually affect us in someway, as we are all ‘one’, unable to disconnect from the whole.

·        We’d know that the people who are kind and peace loving are the ones who hold our world together, while others destroy it.

·        We’d know that happy, fun-loving, open-minded people inspire and uplift others, while insensitive, mean, cruel, and suppressive people bring down the very spirits that need love and nurturing.

·        We’d realize that if we were really happy inside, we wouldn’t need drugs, alcohol, gambling, and obsessive shopping to change our mood.

·        We’d know that what we see on the surface, is not all there is.

·        We’d know that ‘home is where the heart is’ and proceed to make it so.

·        We’d know that most of the things we’re taught is opposite of the truth.

·        We’d know that our subconscious is powerful, and that unless we re-direct some of our subconscious thinking that we’re limiting ourselves to the same old patterns that hold us back.

·        We’d know that there are many tools in our world to help us, if we pay attention to what they are, and not have pre-conceived ideas about things and circumstances.

·        We’d know that The Golden Rule “Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You” is just as important today, as it’s always been. I could go on and on, but the picture should be clear that this is not who we believe we are, because we live our lives in a totally different way. We don’t walk the walk or talk the talk.

Decades ago, many people looked out for one another and their families. People spoke to strangers on the street. Neighbors sat on people’s porches and talked for hours. People didn’t have a lot of money or a lot of ‘things’, but they enjoyed all the things they did have. Not everybody, of course, but many.

Families could sit in their ‘little parlors’ and play games together and have a great time…with no electronics, no TV, no radio, no expensive cars outside and no diamonds and furs in the closet. When you listen to modern day talk, people talk about they’ll be happy when they get a big house, or happy when they buy an Escalade or a Hummer, or happy when they get a boob job or a tummy tuck. You seldom hear them talk about what they’re grateful for that’s right in front of them everyday of the week; that they’re happy just for being alive and being able to wake up with a roof over their heads and food to eat, that they’re not blind or disabled. All of these wonderful gifts are simply taken for granted. ‘Happy’, to the unhappy, is ‘a state of mind’ always somewhere around the corner. If you can look at the list above and say you’re well aware of all these things, and you’re living in that reality, then there’s nothing more for you to hear today. For those of you, who are looking at that list as if it jumped off of a truck and bit you on the neck, it’s time for you to step into a different reality, if for no other reason, than to ‘lift youself up’ out of a life where you may simply be ‘existing’, instead of ‘living life with passion, excitement, and freedom’.  So, we’re back to the question, “Where Do I Start Changing Myself?” Changing the self can start with the Physical, Mental or Spiritual part of yourself. Since I’m the one writing the article, I suggest that starting with the Spiritual transformation is the most important. The reason I say start with the Spiritual part of the self, is because the Spiritual part of the self lays the foundation for everything else. Some people believe ‘spiritual’ means ‘religious’. However, this is not the case. By spiritual, I mean discovering your Spiritual self, which is the unseen part of you, and comes from within. Finding the Spiritual self can be an intense journey.  1)    You can pray(on your own or with others) to show you the way, until an answer arrives2)    You can learn to meditate (and go within) to find your spiritual self3)    You can find a spiritual mentor to help lead you to your spiritual self4)    You can go to a temple that teaches meditation, and then start seeking5)    You can read about it, study it, and get all the info you can, but then, you need to literally ‘do it’. You will not discover the Spiritual self by reading alone. It must be practiced. And it must be practiced, from within. External things will answer some questions and give information, but  the internal application will not only let you feel the power, it will let you know the power is real. Once you start on your Spiritual journey (from within), you will realize how much you’ve been missing out on. Start your journey, tell me how you’re doing, and how you got started? Tell me how you’ve turned from a victim to being empowered? (I’ll tell your stories for you.) I don’t want to immediately tell you what places to go, because being in charge of where you begin, is important, and will make you feel better about not being influenced. You’ll make the choices. You’ll start the journey.  All I can say is that your Spiritual quest can be very eye-opening. It takes off years of ‘scales’ that have been blinding the eyes. It opens up hearts that have been closed for years. It sheds skin that has been smothering you for decades.  It’s your front door to the emptiness you feel, to the insecurities you face, to the questions you’ve asked, and to the life you want to live!

Until next time!

Janeska

This is an article I wrote sometime ago to send out to my database of readers. I believe it is very significant, because so many people actually believe that they can change someone else. This, my friend, is a fantasy.

At one time or another, we all think that we can change somebody. Deep down inside most people have been guilty of saying, “I can change my girlfriend, my boyfriend, my husband, my wife, my kids, or somebody, to fit in the box that we believe would make us happier. This kind of thinking usually leads us down a pathway in the wrong direction. And believe it or not, some people actually do change other people. However, that is almost always ‘negative’. ·        No doubt, a man who beats his wife ultimately changes her.·        A manipulative person can change another person to start acting in harmful, introverted type ways·        An overly aggressive female can mentally beat their loved ones into a behavior that weakens or hurts their self esteem  But if we want a person to just totally change their entire behavior, for our benefit, this imaginary ‘thought’ happens to fall under the category of (Next to Impossible). The harder you try to change somebody else, the worse they get. So, if you don’t like the person you choose to spend your life with, why choose them? Choose someone you like already, somebody you don’t want to change. Besides, trying to change somebody else simply means you may be suffering from serious ‘control’ issues. Do you want people talking about you behind your back saying, “Who left you in charge, anyway”? So, why put all your energy into wasting your precious time? What you can do, however, is change yourself. You’ll be absolutely surprised at what happens when you make subtle or major shifts in your character and in your life. It actually works like a magic pill! ·        Everyone around you changes. ·        People act better, ·        violent people disappear, ·        people who are against you, are now for you. ·        The world opens up and unfolds before you.   The greatest triumphs and imaginations that are locked up inside of you begin to emerge. Changing yourself is that important! You might even think you woke up one morning and the Dream Angel moved you to another planet. Your life will be soooooo different. I can hear all those naysayers out there going “I don’t need to change. There’s nothing wrong with me, it’s them!” And as hard as this is to swallow, it’s only how you choose to respond, react, think, and act from your own inner beliefs that keep them irritating the mess out of you. Only after you change ·        your core inner beliefs, ·        re-frame the way you see things, and ·        react from a place of calmness and peace,

will you drastically see changes in others. It can’t be expressed enough, that the only person you can change is you. Scream it from the rooftops, dream about it, make it your mantra, or whatever you have to do, to make yourself realize that the magic of changing your life lies inside of you.

If you really don’t think you need to change, do an experiment. Start asking people you know really well, what they think about you. Also, ask people that you don’t know well, what they think about you. Keep notes and tell the person you won’t get angry, no matter what they say, because you want honest opinions, don’t you? If you find that many of the people say the same thing about you, that you didn’t think was a problem, it may be an indication that you need to re-evaluate how you think about your behavior.  Real change is an internal decision (on your part)·        to be better; ·        to take the high road, and ·        to act from a place of ‘stillness’ in unpleasant situations. If you’re trying to fix someone else, and they don’t make the decision to change from within, first and foremost, it ain’t gonna happen! Each and every individual must make their own ‘inner’ decision to change. What can happen in a positive way (and for your benefit) is to focus on yourself. Seeing a behavioral therapist, a psychologist, an experienced life coach, or a hypnotherapist, can help you through subtle strategy changes, or even with deep inner changes. They can also help you with learning how to re-frame your perspectives. Perspectives can be changed by using various therapies and ideomotor responses (like writing) that come directly from your subconscious mind. This empowers you to overcome some of the issues you face. These things can move you forward with more effective results and with much quicker changes than you can imagine. If you’ve been trying to do these things all your life, by yourself, you can see how slow the process is. Why not let a trained professional look at your situation objectively and simply point things out? I To make it a little clearer, imagine your situation like ‘Sales Training’ for a sales staff. The hired trainer (like your therapist) comes in to train your salesman or salesmen. And even though your salesman (like yourself) knows all the basics, and some of them are even exceptionally good, sometimes they get stuck. They can’t see subtle changes happening around them. Basically, they’re in their ‘blind spot’ zone. The hired trainer looks at their situations in different ways than they do. With a few minor changes and strategies, they show all the salespeople other ways to look at their individual situations. Once this happens, they can move forward easily, with new and more effective sales strategies than they had before.  What your therapist (or trainer) can do for you overall, is simply give you a better way, or a different way to make a new and improved plan for ·        better weight management, ·        better partnerships, ·        better career choices, and ·        better financial situations, to name a few.

And guess what? You’re the key to that process. In fact, you’re in charge of it, no matter what kind of therapist you work with. If you choose not to work with a therapist, that’s okay too. Your subconscious mind already knows what it needs to change. You have the ability to change yourself, if you really, really want to. Therapists are only supposed to act as guides in your healing, because ultimately your healing comes from within. Once Your Guide points out specific aspects of your behavior, your subconscious either tells you that it’s correct or it isn’t. Then you, and only you, can make the change!

I love to hear from readers. Tell me what you think about the articles. I’m really new at this.

This is the first day of the rest of my life and yours too, for that matter. And we have SO MUCH to look forward to. We have access to more than we’ve ever had, to

  • expand our minds,
  • create our realities,
  • increase our profits, and to
  • revolutionize our world into a world that we actually love living in!

I’m starting my very first real blog this way because I’m feeling slightly melancholy (which doesn’t happen often) and really passionate about where we’re headed as individuals, as countries, as nations, and as a universe.

To bring this into a greater perspective, writings in this blog, hopefully, will inspire you, first and foremost, and, two, integrate our story (as a civilization) into a picture that clearly explains how everything and everyone is connected, and how that connection affects us all.

It is equally as important to understand how we, as individuals, play our own part to affect that connection, as well. Bringing this down to a personal level, and starting with ourselves, seems like a very good place to start. After all, we’re living our lives in ‘real time’. It’s not a fantasy or a part in a movie we’re playing, we need to get it right…and we need to get it right, right now!

Life, in general, is about healing and self-growth. Whether you know this or not, or believe it or not, is not important. Healing for ourselves and healing for others is what is important to our current lives and to the seeds of our future generations. Why? Because, until someone slaps us out of our stupor of mundane existence and makes us aware that something isn’t quite right (to put it mildly), the way things are going, our world is marching in place (and forward) towards more chaos and destruction. So, if your neighbors are sleeping, your friends are akin to zombies without a brain, your family is trippin’ in the dysfunctional zone, and no one listens to you, it’s time for you to make a serious change. It’s really not necessary to swallow anybody else’s ’nightmare pill’, once you’ve got your act together. Whatdayathink?

Getting our act together means growing from within ourselves, healing ourselves first, and setting the kind of examples of what we want to see in the world. This is what sets individuals and nations on a path towards ‘that get down and dirty, deep-seeded, healing’ that counts.Think about it!

Today, we live in a world that has become a surface world. Those of us caught up in that surface reality, fail to see the depths of our wounds. In America, it’s gotten to be all about expensive cars, ripped physiques, bling, bling, and more bling, and all the other ‘things’ we own, not to mention the ‘greenbacks’, the Benjamins, and that almighty dollar. And truly, all of this is perfectly fine (we ALL want the best in life), except that’s ALL we pay attention to .

I call these ’Surface Realities’; the parts of life that are illusionary and ‘not really real’. People have become so afraid to open up and to experience life at it’s fullest, that what they think they see (on the surface) is not what they see at all.

Now is the time to stop being afraid of our own shadows. Now is the time to stop being afraid to face ‘truth’ because it hurts. Now is the time to go deeper through self introspection, which literally frees us from ‘the surface realities’ and ‘the self-made prisons’ of our lives. Balance, calmness, true depth, and a deep commitment to healing will bring more fun, passion, and a ‘true realness’ to our lives. We’ll connect and re-connect with other humans for deeper meaning and for tapping into a freedom that makes you wanna holla! (I’m so silly sometimes!) Yet, tapping into your true freedom is very real and very awe-inspiring, once you experience it.

Very few of us are looking for WHO a person really is, what kind of values they have, what suffering they may be experiencing with a happy face attached to it, what they have to offer, or even what their dreams could become if they had just a thimbleful of help.

Without the bling, expensive cars, the designer bags, and the plastic exteriors, most people don’t even know who they are. They identify with their ‘props’, as if their ‘things’ are simply extra appendages, another costly extension attached to their arms and legs.

Instead of embracing and celebrating our ‘oneness’ with ourselves, with others, and with our humanity, we’ve learned to treat our friends, families, and neighbors, as if they’re invisible or as representing the enemy, just one step up from the gates of hell. In the year 2007, animals are treated with more love and respect than most humans, and definitely with more love and respect than the people we say we love the most. This does NOT have to be this way. We have the chance to change it. It’s in our power. It’s in our hands. It always has been. With this state of affairs, healing must be our biggest order of the day.

So what does this all have to do with the Body, Mind and Spirit thing? Well, you’ll have to stay tuned to my daily posts and simply prepare yourself for the ride. It’s going to be a ‘wild’ journey, of which I believe you’ll enjoy.

I know I started this one out a little on the BIG, esoterical side, but it will eventually all come together, in very simple, down-to-earth terms. I know you don’t know me from Adam, but, at some point along the way, we’ll connect, and the healing will begin!

I encourage you to make comments, whenever you like. Feedback, discourse and communication make us thrive and I’d love to hear from you! Until next time!
